Aristotle's Theory of Happiness and the Good Life Aristotle is one of the greatest thinkers in the history of western philosophy, and is most notably known for expressing his view of happiness in Nicomachean Ethics. Aristotle develops a theory of how to live the good life and reach eudaimonia.In philosophy, the good life is the kind of life that an individual may dream of living. In the ancient times, the aspect of the good life was simple because it only entailed having enough food on the table, having a tribal affiliation, having a family, and shelter.This paper discusses the philosophy of good life given by the great thinker Aristotle. It looks at Aristotle’s view that there are certain external and internal goods available to man, and it is through the attainment of internal goods that man is able to live a life that can be identified as a “good life”.
